As what feels like the longest year in our collective experience draws to a close, I wanted to reach out to our members and community to share some exciting news.
The CORA Board has elected new officers for the 2021-2022 cycle!
Taking over as President is our current VP, Olivia Birkenhauer. Olivia joined the board at the same time I did in 2014 and has been a tireless advocate and leader within the community, both personally and professionally with her business GOT DIRT. I am thrilled to have her experience and leadership at the helm of this rapidly expanding organization.
Moving into the VP role is the guy behind the renewed and incredibly fruitful efforts at expanding our membership base, Sherman Butler. No doubt you have been on a group ride with him (back when it was safe, of course), but Sherman has been steadfastly working behind the scenes on projects big and small. He brings a ton of energy to the position, and I am excited to see him continue to leverage that into growth for CORA!
Our Secretary for the upcoming two years will be Cori Stevens. Cori's professionalism and attention to detail has been shown through her recent tenure with the board, and already we are seeing opportunities to bring the fruits of these skills to you, so y'all can SEE more of what we're up to behind the scenes on a regular basis!
We're still trying to fill our Treasurer position, so if you've got a head for numbers, and want to learn from the inimitable Corey Wilkosz, please get with us ASAP!
With all that said, I want to thank all of you for your support and your engagement over the past four years I have held the position of President. I was very blessed to have such an amazing foundation to build upon, a foundation constructed through the hard efforts of over 20 years of volunteers who believe in providing amazing trail experiences. I have learned so much about myself, the community, and I have made so many life-long friends. We have accomplished so very much together, but the best is still to come. I know that the future for multi-use natural surface trails in this region will continue to grow and expand, and I cannot wait to see where it leads. I count myself as honored to have served y'all, and I will continue to serve the community as long as I am able.
