Job Description: CORA Trail Development Director

Cincinnati Off-Road Alliance (CORA) seeks a positive, visionary, and team-oriented leader to help CORA achieve its mission of developing a thriving community by creating and advocating for sustainable mountain bike access in Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. Our Trail Development Director will share and embrace the board’s vision of a robust and diverse mountain biking experience in the Greater Cincinnati region that will last for generations. Ideal candidates will be highly motivated, team oriented, friendly individuals with strong organizational, project management, and fundraising skills. The Trail Development Director will support and work closely with the CORA Trail Stewards and general membership, and report to the CORA Board of Directors to ensure sound financial management and appropriate project direction.

The specific requirements and duties of the position are detailed below:

Coordination and Planning 

* Manage CORA’s membership programs with Board and Committee oversight and assistance.

* Assure that CORA is a sustainable organization that is not key-person dependent for its ongoing operation.

Funding Development 

* Support the Board in diversifying, stabilizing and increasing both project based and non-earmarked funding for the organization.

* Work closely with the Board to research funding sources, develop fundraising plans, cultivate, solicit major donors, and write and submit grant proposals.

Communications and Community Outreach 

* Work with the Marketing team to ensure media outlets and public relations have a consistent look, message, and frequency.

* Assist Board and Committees in community outreach efforts and soliciting community input.

* Interact as a public face of CORA, ensuring positive experiences at all times.

Advocacy and Partnerships 

* Meet with land-use management agencies as needed by Trail Stewards or as directed by the Board to discuss priorities, projects, and strategies to ensure continued trail access and increased multi-use natural surface trail opportunities.

* Continue to build positive and supportive relationships with a diverse set of partners including recreation nonprofits, conservation organizations, industry, and land managers to further support CORA’s strategic plan initiatives and objectives.



Other 

* Undertake other duties as may be necessary for organizational success



Qualifications

* Nonprofit and executive-level leadership experience is highly desirable.

* Proven track record of raising funds from multiple sources including establishing community relationships for corporate and private endorsements.

* Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

* Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others.

* Must be able to balance competing objectives and possess excellent time and project management skills.

* Experience in fundraising, marketing, and an understanding of outdoor recreation advocacy issues are preferred.

* Proficient in MS Office, Google docs, Slack. social media applications, and other relevant computer applications.

* Trail design and construction experience is highly desirable.

* Mountain biking experience and a passion for CORA’s mission and vision is essential.



Hours/Compensation

* Part-time position (20 hours a week)

* Cash compensation package, no employment benefits.

* No relocation, must be local to the Greater Cincinnati area
